Canfor Announces Curtailments at All B.C. at the End of December

Canfor Corporation announced that it intends to curtail production operations at all British Columbia sawmills, with the exception of the WynnnWood facility, starting on Monday December 23rd and running through Friday January 3rd 2020.  Production will resume on 6th January 2020.  These curtailments will remove almost 58 million board feet of production output and are in addition to all previously announced capacity reductions. The company says that the curtailments are due to the high cost of fiber and continued weak lumber markets, which are making the operating conditions in BC uneconomical.
