Conifex shutting down El Dorado, AR mill

Conifex Timber announced that it will shut down its El Dorado, Arkansas mill. Conifex purchased the former Georgia-Pacific mill in 2015 and had completed the initial phase of expanding and upgrading the facility. The company cited the need for further capital investment in the facility and the weak lumber markets as the primary reasons for shutting the mill. The closure will remove roughly 21 million board feet of capacity according to the company.
